Airsoft.
My most expensive hobby, and no, it has nothing to do with anime or visual novels.
The WETTI FN SCAR gas blowback rifle is a well made, solid piece of gear. The only downsides to it is limited ammo capacity compared to AEG’s, which does not bug me, and poor performance in the cold when using green gas or propane. The solution to this is to use C02 mags for cold weather engagements. Also nice is the working bolt catch, so you know when you are out of ammo, and the fact you have to pull the charging handle (which can be installed on the left or right of the gun) after a reload on a empty chamber. The gun field strips like the real thing, and even includes a hex tool concealed right above the barrel. Like the real weapon, the upper receiver is made of metal, most of the rest is polymer. The buttstock is both folding and six-position collapsible, and for accessory mounting, such as optics, the gun has 4 rails: two small side rails, one lower rail, and the long top rail (which runs the length of the upper receiver. Also available and pictured is the EGLM (ergonomic grenade launching module). This can fire M203 type airsoft grenades. Be aware, with the EGLM attached, the overall weight is heavy, loaded with a grenade, and a magazine it comes out to around 12.4 pounds. The upside is that the EGLM is quick attach and detach interface with the lower rail, it takes mere seconds to attach or detach. Aside from this, another advantage of the EGLM system is that you do not need to shift your hand to fire the grenade, as you would with other launchers, such as the M203. When the EGLM is attached, reloading a magazine is actually made quicker due to the design. My next step is to get a holographic sight, a laser aiming module and a Surefire light.
Also in picture is a KWA (i think) Glock 18 C. The full auto feature is useful, and it is easy to field strip. However, compared to other Glocks, it requires more care and has more issues due to the selective fire feature. These used to be common, but ever since Glock had a fit and patented the Glock shape and design, they have been mostly pulled off the market. This is making finding spare parts a bitch.
