Apple have never been fans of letting customers tamper with their software or hardware. Like when they said they were not releasing a source developers kit for the iPhone.
Although, nowadays, almost anyone can rip the iPhone to shreds and use it to it’s full potential.
So, what was the thinking behind Apple banning four teenagers from downloading third-party software on a demo iPhone in an Apple store? Sure, it’s only a demonstration product and really, no-one should be tampering with it in ways that could damage the iPhone itself, but was there any reason to chase the guys down and lecture them before banning them from every Apple store in the country? That ban is ‘for life’ too remember.
