Download Firefox 3

It’s one o’clock, you can finally download the latest version of Firefox. For those not in the know, it has a tonne of new features!

That’s not all though, Mozilla are aiming to make history. The twenty four hour time period has begun and download day is underway. The Firefox team are aiming for the most downloaded software in a twenty four hour period.

For those who did pledge to download the new version, I hope you’ve kept your promise!

For those who haven’t, or for those who want to put Firefox in the record books download Firefox 3 now!

I’ll tell you, I was one of those who embraced Firefox as their main web browser back when it was version 0.9… and I won’t download Firefox 3 today, probably not anywhere soon.

Being somewhat of a web designer I will need to install it anyway sooner or later, but I feel no urge in doing so. Opera (not even the most recent Opera 9.5, but an earlier 9.27) is superior in many ways. I love Opera and I won’t set for a browser that has historically been worse than what I have now.

I do hope, though, that Fx3 has improved considerably from its predecessors - and they claim it did. Time will tell us what’s been of it.

Hah, this ’stable’ release crashes every 5 minutes. Great work, Mozilla. On converting me to Safari, that is.

I was recieving a lot of crashing with the beta on Ubuntu and the previous version of Firefox on Vista. Luckily, things are ok here on Windows XP.

Also, something I’ve found useful. Right clicking the Firefox toolbar and choosing ‘Customise’ and selecting ‘Use Small Icons’ gets rid of that horrendously huge back button and replaces it with something more elegant.
